Spiced Honey Nut Mix

This nut mix uses our honey, salt and any spice blend of your choice to create a delectable balance of sweet and savory that guests won’t be able to get enough of.  In this recipe we went with garlic powder as our spice of choice, but feel free to “spice it up”.

2 pounds of mixed raw nuts (we used cashews and pecans, but hazelnuts and almonds will also be a great addition)
4 tablespoons butter (melted) or olive oil
3 tablespoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
2 tablespoons garlic powder, or spice of choice

6 tablespoons Honeyton Farms Honey


Preheat oven to 300 F.

Toss nuts in a large mixing bowl along with melted butter or olive oil.  Add kosher salt, garlic powder, and 3 tablespoons of honey and mix till nuts are evenly coated.

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and spread nuts on prepared baking sheets.

Place baking sheets in oven and roast for 10 minutes mixing after 5 minutes.  Remove baking sheets from oven and mix nuts again.

Drizzle with the remaining 3 tablespoons of honey.  Place baking sheet back in oven for an additional 7-10 minutes until nuts turn a golden brown.  Watch closely as mixture can burn easily and will continue to roast once removed from the oven.

Remove baking sheets from oven and drizzle with additional honey and salt if needed.  Let cool before serving.
